Rescue Codes: Cross-Device Saves Without an Account
Most browser games make you choose: create an account to keep your progress, or play free and lose everything when you switch devices. Wildlands: Last Village refuses that trade. Rescue Codes give you portable, permanent progress with no sign-up, no email, and no password — and this guide explains exactly how to use them.
What a Rescue Code is
A Rescue Code is a short code that represents your entire progress: banked coins, hero training levels, unlocks, and forged weapons. Think of it as your village pressed into a phrase. Anyone holding the code can restore that exact progress on any device, in any modern browser, anywhere in the world. No server stores your identity; the code itself is the save.
How to get yours
Open the in-game menu (pause during a run, or from the title screen) and choose Get Rescue Code. The game generates your code on the spot — write it down, screenshot it, or paste it somewhere you keep notes. Ten seconds, done. Generate a fresh one whenever you've made progress worth keeping; a newer code simply contains a newer snapshot of your village.
How to use it on another device
On the new device, open the game, find the Rescue Code option in the menu, and enter your code. Your coins, levels, and unlocks arrive intact. The classic rhythm defenders settle into: grind a few waves on your phone during the day, generate a code, then continue the same village on the big screen at night.
Why we built it this way
Two reasons. First, respect for your time — nobody should fill out a form to defend a village. Second, privacy by architecture: because your save lives in your browser and your code lives in your pocket, there's no account database holding your personal information, because none is ever collected. The game literally cannot lose your data to a breach it isn't storing.
The honest fine print
Local saves have one weakness: they live in your browser's storage, so clearing your browsing data can clear your village with it. The Rescue Code is the antidote — treat it like the spare key to your house. Our recommended habit: generate a code after any session where something meaningful happened (a boss down, a hero leveled, Mauka's 3,000-coin fund topped up), and keep the latest one wherever you keep important small things. Lose the device, spill the coffee, switch browsers — with a code, the village survives anything.

Does a code expire? No — a code stays valid; newer codes just carry newer progress. Can I share my code with a friend? The code restores your progress wherever it's entered, so share it only if you're happy for someone to inherit your village. Do codes work between phone and PC? Yes — that's the whole point. Do I still need one if I installed Wildlands on my home screen? Installed or not, saves are per-browser — the code remains your bridge and your backup.
